Sculpture # 55 12/26: “Figure of 8” ($2500 USD)
This sculpture was created from an idea I had as a twisting mobius. This was a lot of carving and a lot of waste was created due to the openness of the pattern. I added two twists to the creation to make it a Faux Mobius. The painting idea was also new combining two colors with a closely related hue and an undulating pattern. The size of the painted pattern seemed to work to enhance the beauty and uniqueness of this piece but not diminish the sculpted design. The unique and totally unpredicted part of the sculpture was when placed on the more compact circle side it automatically tilted in a stable position!! It has a large shell fragment within the structure.
